I was recently honored and quite surprised with an award for “Best Short Film” at the International Wildlife Film Festival in Vaasa, Finland for my documentary on Northern California Elephant Seals. What an amazing experience to be included among several participants from all over the world. I truly enjoyed meeting all of the filmmakers who inspired me and quickly became good friends.

Ilias was a wonderful host and event coordinater, his genuine and lively spirit was a perfect compliment to this festival. I was thouroughly impressed with all of the accepted entries and had a wonderful time on the field trips to the Natural History Museum in Vaasa, a tour of the city, and an adventure to the Kvarken archipelago.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Vaasa film festival, I couldn’t be more grateful and appreciative for the recognition of my short documentary. I hope to see you all again at the next film festival!

For anyone interested in seeing my documentary; I am still hoping to submit this film into more festivals so it is not publically available to watch. However, I have it posted on a private link on Vimeo and can pass along the link with the password if you contact me.
